My Approach to this Exploration

The nature of my process with this subject matter is to simply be aware of this energy in my life, whether I'm just taking note of it by staring off into space for a bit, or taking the time to energize myself during a sunrise, breathing exercise or other "treatment". Since it is everywhere (the universal force, in and of everything: that underlying substance which is the source of all things) I find that merely being aware of the fact of the orgone, and willing myself to recieve from it in whatever ways which may naturally present through the course of my day (and whether or not I am consciously aware of these interactions and processes) gives me a sense of connection with this mystery, and an empowerment by it. What I want most of all in this process is to develop a close and intimate relationship with this force, so that over time my life is more and more directed towards a necessary inter-relationship. In this process of inedia I have identified the "what" (as in, "By what force shall I sustain myself?") and the "how" remains a mystery.

This aspect of mystery is a fundamental part of my approach:

I understand that when I pursue something, what I am doing is really projecting my ignorance, and living out my various suppositions of the world - morality, spirituality, human nature, etc. The very act of pursuing is creative, because I have an idea which guides my pursuit, and that idea will color - and ultimately compromise - my goal and its attainment. I will end up with a series of experiences which are notable in that they "are not" that which I'm seeking.

Another way to put this is that when I'm seeking a solution, I am in fact broadcasting into my search the problem which I wish to avoid/nullify, so that every solution I discover takes me deeper into the problem. I will naturally do this with anything in my life which I view as something to overcome, and thus learn about myself and the limitations I'm operating from. I do this accidentally/consciously and purposefully/unconsciously with my process around inedia - I'm not saying that I don't do it. Nor am I saying it isn't useful, because it is and has been enormously so.

I'm saying that purposefully/consciously I get to choose how I approach a thing, and in this respect I am choosing to approach inedia/breathariansm as a relationship with the energy which I've identified as the source of support. I want to get closer, to see more, to feel more, and to understand. I believe that the experience of living breatharianism will be very different from the picture I have in my head - the fantasy I'm holding for that. Therefore I will focus on creating the relationship, rather than creating a version of the fantasy. The relationship will lead to the real thing, whatever it is, whatever it looks like. Because no matter how compelling may be my fantasy, it is the real thing that I am longing for in my body and soul.

  • Thank you evox for stating such a thing in such a way. I will be at burning man this year and will be practicing some breatarian techniques. I desire only to do that which is in harmony with the universal good. I rely on my intuition to guide me towards those actions I am perfectly happy in the 'not knowing'.

    I will report back n a week
